Ene FM

Ene FM is a commercial station based in Wote, the headquarters of Makueni County, with programmes aimed at the Kamba community and younger listeners across lower Eastern Kenya. It broadcasts on 99.9 FM in Makueni and uses the tagline 'Woni Wa Muukamba'.

The tagline is in Kikamba, which makes the target audience clear, even though the station's language is described as 'multilingual' rather than Kikamba outright. We have not seen the station set out its language mix, so we do not record one, but the branding is plainly Kamba.

In Kamba radio, Ene FM competes with Musyi FM from Royal Media Services and KBC's Mwatu FM. The station says it aims at younger listeners in particular, from its base in Wote. Wote is Makueni's administrative centre, so county news is close at hand.

It also has a Nairobi contact office in Utawala, alongside the Wote studio. We have not found the station's owner, its launch date, a website or a current presenter line-up, so no shows are listed. If you know the people behind Ene FM, we would like to add their names and shows.

To listen, press play on this page. It streams over mobile data, so Kamba listeners in Nairobi and abroad can tune in too. In Makueni, set your radio to 99.9 FM.
