Family Radio 316

Family Radio 316 broadcasts Christian programming in English from Nairobi, mixing contemporary gospel music with Bible teaching and inspirational talk for families and church-goers. Its name points to John 3:16, and listeners know it as both Family Radio and Radio 316.

TBN Family Media Limited is the licensee. In the Communications Authority's June 2026 register, the station appears as Radio 316, with a ten-year commercial FM licence dated 2 August 2017 and a Nairobi postal address. TBN Family Media also appears in the register with a free-to-air television licence, so the company runs radio and TV together. Radio 316 broadcasts on 103.9 FM in the capital, a frequency that was linked to a Family FM as far back as 2019.

The station is said to have started in July 1999, with studios at Dik Dik Gardens, off Mandera Road in Kileleshwa, and satellite coverage for East and Central Africa. Those details are unconfirmed. The music is mostly international worship and contemporary Christian: a recent playlist ran Chris Tomlin, Hillsong United, Phil Wickham and Passion, with Nigerian worship leaders Nathaniel Bassey and Dunsin Oyekan in the same hour.

Current presenters and named shows are not listed here.
