Iqra FM

Iqra FM is an Islamic station in Nairobi, with Quran recitation, religious teaching and talk for Muslim listeners. Its name comes from the Arabic word iqra, meaning read or recite, the first word of the Quran's earliest revelation.

The clearest detail is its frequency, 95.1 FM in the capital. The figure 95.0 has also been given, so treat the dial position as approximate until it can be checked on air. Radio Salaam, another Nairobi faith station, is on 90.7.

Much of the rest is unconfirmed. We have not been able to confirm Iqra FM's owner, its licence holder, the year it started, or the languages it uses on air. Our check of part of the regulator's mid-2026 licence register found nothing under the Iqra name, which may mean the licence sits with a company under a different name. We have not listed any presenters or programmes for the same reason.

If you run the station or listen regularly, the details we most want to confirm are the licence holder, the current frequency and the main daily programmes.

For now, the easiest way to hear Iqra FM is to press play on this page. Within Nairobi, try 95.1 FM on your radio.
