Jamia Radio

Jamia Radio is an Islamic online station from Nairobi, linked to the Jamia Mosque on Banda Street in the city centre, and it is aimed at Muslim listeners looking for religious teaching and education. It is described as the official online radio of Jamia Mosque, Nairobi, and of Jamia TV, with a focus on education and Islamic programming.

The mosque has run broadcast media for some years. Its committee owns Tamaz Communications, the company that launched Horizon TV in 2016. As the mosque marked its centenary, Horizon TV was rebranded Jamia TV. It is not clear whether the radio stream changed name at the same time, so this page uses the name Jamia Radio.

Listeners sometimes mix Jamia Radio up with Iqra FM, another station owned and operated by the Jamia Mosque Committee. Iqra FM is a separate FM broadcaster. We have not been able to confirm exactly how the two share content or staff, so we describe them separately.

We have no confirmed programme schedule, presenter names or launch date for Jamia Radio itself. Expect religious talks and education in keeping with the mosque's role, but check the station's own channels for prayer-time and lecture schedules.

There is no FM frequency for Jamia Radio. Use the player on this page to stream it in Nairobi or anywhere else.
