Kokwo Radio

Kokwo Radio is a local station in Kapenguria, West Pokot, reported to broadcast on 100.1 FM. It is one of a handful of small broadcasters serving the town and the surrounding North Rift.

Beyond the name, town and frequency, we have very little that we can verify. No owner, launch date, language or programme details are public, and we could not confirm an official website or social media account. For that reason this page stays short on specifics and leaves out anything we could not check.

The name gives some context. Among the Pokot, the kokwo is the traditional gathering of elders that settles disputes and makes community decisions. A station with that name is likely to be pitched at local listeners, though we have not seen the station describe its own aims.

Kapenguria has other local stations too, among them Aperit FM on 93.0 and North Rift Radio, so Kokwo Radio sits in a small but busy local market. We have found nothing connecting the three, so each has its own page.

You can try the stream on this page from anywhere with a data connection. On FM in Kapenguria, try 100.1, though the frequency is unconfirmed.
