Lokoi FM

Lokoi FM is a community radio station in Tiaty, Baringo County, serving Pokot communities around Chemolingot and the surrounding pastoral areas. Tiaty, formerly East Pokot, is a largely pastoral area in northern Baringo, and Chemolingot is its main town.

The station has attracted academic attention. A 2024 master's thesis at Daystar University studied Lokoi FM as a case of community radio carrying anti-FGM messages to Pokot women in Naudo Location. That tells us the station takes part in public-health and rights campaigns, and that it reaches women in rural villages, which is a hard audience for any medium.
