Mbaitu FM

Mbaitu FM is a Kikamba-language station for Kamba listeners in Nairobi and Ukambani. It launched in 2013 and broadcasts news, sport, gospel and other music, and talk shows in Kikamba.

Its studios are at NHIF Building in Upper Hill, Nairobi, which lets it serve Kamba listeners in the capital as well as those back home in Machakos, Kitui and Makueni. Eastern Broadcasting Corporation is reported to be the owner, though this is unconfirmed.

The station uses three frequencies to cover Ukambani and the capital, so most Kamba-speaking listeners in the region can find it on an ordinary FM set. It uses 92.5 FM for Nairobi and Machakos, 100.4 FM for Mwingi and Kitui, and 100.5 FM for Makueni, and is best known as Mbaitu FM on 92.5.

Mbaitu FM competes for Kamba listeners with Royal Media Services' Musyi FM, KBC's Mwatu FM and the newer Mutongoi FM. Its website, mbaitufm.com, publishes a steady stream of local, national and sports news alongside the radio service, which gives the brand a presence online between broadcasts.
