Mumbo FM

Mumbo FM is a commercial FM station from Bungoma in western Kenya, licensed to West Media Limited. That is the same company that holds the licence for West FM, so Mumbo FM is effectively a sister station within a Bungoma-based media group, aimed at listeners in Bungoma County and the surrounding region.

The ownership detail comes from the Communications Authority of Kenya's licence registers for July and November 2024, which list both Mumbo FM and West FM under West Media Limited. Both registers give the company's address in Bungoma.

Beyond that, the verified record is thin. Mumbo FM is reported to broadcast on 90.2 FM and to be a Lubukusu (Kibukusu) station, which would fit its Bungoma base. Neither detail is confirmed, so we do not list them as facts, but 90.2 is a reasonable place to start if you are tuning by hand. We have also not found a launch date, presenters or a programme schedule.

For listeners in Bungoma, Webuye, Kimilili and the Mount Elgon area, Mumbo FM is one of several local options, alongside its sister West FM and national stations that broadcast in the region.

The easiest way to listen is the stream on this page, which works on mobile data across Kenya and abroad.
