Pearl Radio

Pearl Radio is a Nairobi music station said to broadcast on 96.9 FM. We have not been able to confirm that it broadcasts on that frequency, or that a licensed FM station of that name exists in Nairobi, so this page is mainly a guide to what is and is not known.

Here is the problem. In Nairobi, 96.9 FM belongs to a different broadcaster: MBCI Radio, the Christian station from Nakuru-based MBCI Media, which includes 96.9 among its regional frequencies. Radio Jambo also uses 96.9, but in Nakuru, not Nairobi. We know of no link between either station and Pearl Radio.

That leaves a few possibilities: Pearl Radio may be an online stream that has been wrongly given a frequency, it may have used 96.9 in the past, or it may go by a different name. We do not know which, and we have not found an owner, website, language or presenters for it.

If you tune to 96.9 FM in Nairobi expecting Pearl Radio, you are likely to hear MBCI Radio instead. We would welcome corrections from the station.
