Radio Halgan

Radio Halgan is a community station from Wajir, in north-eastern Kenya. We have not been able to confirm its frequency, owner, language or programming.

We have found no website, licence record or news report for a station called Radio Halgan. The name does appear elsewhere: Halgan is also a district in Somalia's Hiran region, but nothing we found connects that place to a Kenyan radio station.

The best-documented station in Wajir is Wajir Community Radio, set up with World Bank support to serve pastoralist communities in Somali and Borana. Its programmes cover climate and weather for herders, and its signal also reaches parts of Isiolo, Garissa and Mandera. We mention it because listeners searching for Wajir radio are likely to find it. We have no evidence that Radio Halgan and Wajir Community Radio are the same.

Given its location, a Wajir community station would most likely broadcast in Somali, but we have not seen that stated for Radio Halgan and do not record a language. If you know the station, its frequency or who runs it, please get in touch.
