Radio Safari Kenya

Radio Safari is a regional station on 87.9 FM in Kitale, broadcasting to Trans Nzoia and the wider North Rift and Western Kenya. It mixes local news with African pop, sports and talk shows, and its programming centres on issues that matter to people in and around Kitale.

The studios are at Mazop Plaza in Kitale town. There is no public record of who owns the station or when it first went on air. What is clear is the focus: regional stories, local voices and a playlist built on contemporary African music. It is also linked with contemporary Christian music.

The language picture is mixed. The station is usually described as English-language, while the station's Facebook page carries the Kiswahili handle kwaburudaniyakweli. In practice, expect English and Kiswahili, but we have not been able to confirm a fixed language policy from the station itself.

The station publishes a contact line, +254 110 005326, and runs a YouTube channel at @radiosafarikenya4663. Its website is radiosafari.co.ke. Callers and advertisers can use those channels, since the station does not publish a programme schedule online that we could find.

To listen, tune to 87.9 FM anywhere within range of Kitale, or press play on this page to stream Radio Safari online. Online listening is the easiest option for people from the North Rift now living in Nairobi or abroad.
