RTG Garissa Radio

RTG Garissa Radio is a community station from Garissa, and its name points to Radio and Television Garissa, the local broadcaster. We have not been able to confirm that link, so this page sets out what is known about Garissa Radio and where the gaps are.

Garissa Radio, given as 100.8 FM, is among the most popular stations in the town, alongside Star FM on 97.1 and Radio Jambo on 104.3. Radio Garissa is described as an affiliate of Garissa Radio and Television, widely followed for its music and call-in shows, and with Kulan Radio it is regarded as one of the pioneer digital broadcasters in the town.

There is a complication. Radio 47 has also been placed on 100.8 FM in Garissa, so two stations appear to share one frequency. That may be an error, and we have not been able to check it against the regulator's register. For that reason we do not list 100.8 as a confirmed frequency for RTG Garissa Radio.

We have not found the station's owner, launch date or presenters. Most Garissa stations broadcast in Somali and Swahili, but we have not confirmed this station's language mix.
