Rware FM

Rware FM is a community radio station in Nyeri on 101.7 FM. It is described as Christian community radio, carrying information and news.

Nyeri is in the heart of the central highlands, and its local radio audience is mostly Kikuyu-speaking. Community stations in Kenya are licensed for a defined local area and usually run on low-power transmitters, so Rware FM's signal is likely to be strongest in and around Nyeri town and the nearby villages.

The public record on the station is thin. We have not been able to confirm who runs Rware FM, whether it is linked to a particular church, which company holds its licence, when it started or which languages it uses on air. We have therefore left the owner, launch and language fields blank, and have not listed any presenters or programmes.

There is also a frequency overlap to be aware of. Egerton University's training station, Egerton Radio, broadcasts on 101.7 FM in Njoro in Nakuru County. The two towns are far enough apart that the signals should not clash, but a radio scan in between may pick up either one.

In Nyeri, tune to 101.7 FM. Anywhere else, or if the signal is weak, you can stream Rware FM live on this page.
