Spice FM

Spice FM is the Standard Group's English station for grown-up Nairobi listeners who want talk on news, politics and business with good music between the debates. You find it on 94.4 FM, with studios on Mombasa Road in Nairobi.

The station's tagline promises 'Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice', which hints at the balance. Current affairs and conversation carry the schedule, and the music leans towards R&B and old school. Its two sister radio stations broadcast in Kiswahili and Kalenjin, which leaves Spice as the Standard Group's English voice on radio.

The programme people tend to know is The Situation Room, the station's flagship talk show. Around it the line-up includes the breakfast slot Morning Spice, the evening Spice Drive, Adults in the Room and Sugar and Spice, which counts Yolanda Mulwa on its presenting team. The station also puts out podcasts. Behind The Sins, for example, picks over relationships, celebrity culture and the social arguments of the week.

Its owner also runs KTN on television and two more radio stations, Radio Maisha and Berur FM.

Spice FM's page on standardmedia.co.ke carries a live audio stream, a video stream, DJ mixes and the podcast archive, and the station posts on X as @SpiceFMKE. In Nairobi, tune to 94.4 FM, or play the stream on this page.
