Trinity FM

Trinity FM is a Christian radio station run by Trinity United Methodist Church in Narok, broadcasting church services and teaching to Kikuyu, Maasai and Samburu speakers. It is part of Trinity Radio and Television, the church's broadcast arm.

The church started its broadcasting during the COVID-19 lockdown. With congregations unable to gather, the church took its services to the airwaves, led by the Rev. Josam Kariuki. The station ran bilingual services in Kikuyu, Maasai and Samburu, reflecting the mix of communities in and around Narok.

It also went beyond worship. Trinity FM also aired school programmes in local languages, giving children lessons in the languages they speak at home. The church saw the station as a way to reach vulnerable communities who could not be reached in person.

There is a caution on identity. A Trinity FM has been reported on 91.5 FM with Kikuyu as its language, but we cannot confirm that it is the same station. We have recorded the languages the church named and left the frequency unconfirmed. We have not listed specific programmes or presenters beyond Rev. Kariuki's role in founding it.

The church's TV and radio page is at umckenya.org/tv. You can also try the Trinity FM stream on this page.
