U FM

U FM is a Nairobi community station said to broadcast on 89.4 FM. We have not been able to confirm that frequency, the station's owner or its programming, so this profile is limited.

When we checked the Nairobi dial around that point, the best-documented neighbour is Ghetto Radio on 89.5 FM, a long-running youth station. We know of no other Kenyan station called U FM on 89.4. A station of the same name exists in Argentina, but it has nothing to do with this one.

Because 89.4 and 89.5 are so close, a listener tuning a basic radio in Nairobi could easily land on Ghetto Radio instead. If you hear Ghetto Radio's jingles at that point on the dial, that is probably why.

We do not know whether U FM is a campus station, a church station or a neighbourhood project, though its description as a community station hints at one of those. We have also not found a website, social media page or named presenter. If you know the station, please send us its details so we can correct this page.
