Wimwaro FM

Wimwaro FM broadcasts in Kiembu on 93.0 FM and belongs to Royal Media Services. It reaches Embu, Tharaka Nithi and parts of Ukambani in upper Eastern Kenya.

Its slogan is 'Gaka niko'. Royal Media pitches it as the region's go-to for news, entertainment and information, with local stories and events given priority over, but not at the expense of, national and world news. The schedule mixes music, talk, comedy, live events and regular bulletins.

On weekdays the day begins at 4am with Riruka. The breakfast programme Gutua Mwathi runs from 6am to 10am and picks up the stories people in the region are talking about. Guturatura then carries listeners to 1pm, followed by the gospel show Kigooco, Menuko with its mix of music and issues, the discussion slot Kivuani Kia Wimwaro, and Gukemba in the evening.

Weekends have their own character. Saturday mornings bring Kigaguro, and there is sport on Sport Kick and family talk on Gucokia Mukaro. Sunday starts with the gospel breakfast Gicukuro, young listeners get Kwirekereria, and Kembura is a weekly hour of traditional Embu music and oldies.
