Truth FM on 90.7 FM

Truth FM broadcasts on 90.7 FM in English, playing gospel music and Christian programmes for Nairobi listeners.

BHB is one of the older media houses in the country. Both stations have shared one news department, which kept costs down but left them exposed when money ran short.

That happened in early 2020. Several senior managers quit in October 2019 as a new board was being put in place, and that advertisers had drifted away. Some staff said they had gone more than three months without pay. BHB then laid off at least 17 people across the two stations. The newsroom took the biggest hit, and Truth FM was left with two presenters, filling long parts of the day with uninterrupted music. Those named included Cynthia Njuguna of Gospel Switch, Daniel Anunda from the breakfast slot, Tess Libanze, and Israel Kagiri, presenter of Big Testimony. BHB said departing staff would be paid their dues when funds allowed.

Ngoma Radio on 90.7 FM

Radio Ngoma is a Swahili news and talk station based in Kitale, for listeners across the North Rift and Western Kenya. Its schedule covers news, talk, business and sport, and it broadcasts 24 hours a day.

The station says it was established in 2020. Its headquarters are at Ebby Towers on Kenyatta Street in Kitale town. Ngoma means drum in Kiswahili, a word that also stands for music and celebration in many Kenyan communities.

Radio Ngoma uses two frequencies to cover its region. In the North Rift it is on 90.7 FM, and for Western Kenya it uses 99.9 FM. That gives it reach from Trans Nzoia into the neighbouring counties, where it competes with local stations such as Radio Simba, Imani Radio and Mitume Radio as well as the national networks.
