Dennis Aseto is the journalist Standard Media brought in to keep Spice FM's The Situation Room running after Eric Latiff left in January 2025. He was introduced in an acting capacity while the company looked for a permanent replacement, working at first with CT Muga and Ndu Okoh.
Aseto's background is in news. His career began in August 2008 as a radio presenter at ENC Radio. He had a short spell at Royal Media Services from September 2009 and later became head of news at 1FM. From October 2015 to May 2021 he was at Homeboyz Radio, first as breakfast news anchor and then head of news. He joined the Standard Group in May 2021 as a news reader on KTN News.
He also founded the podcast Convos With Toll in March 2019, which deals with everyday issues that rarely get airtime.
The show around him has changed. CT Muga left Spice FM in July 2025 for Radio Generation, leaving Ndu Okoh as the remaining original co-host. In March 2026 a tribunal cleared the Communications Authority to revoke several Standard Group licences, including Spice FM's, over unpaid fees. The current Situation Room line-up has not been confirmed for 2026, so check the station before relying on this.
