Joseph Ogidi, known as Gidi or Gidi Gidi, co-hosts Gidi na Ghost Asubuhi, the weekday breakfast show on Radio Jambo, with former Harambee Stars coach Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee. The show runs from 6am to 10am and is Radio Jambo's flagship programme. It is regarded as Radio Africa Group's biggest brand show.
The show's best-known segment is Patanisho, in which listeners call in hoping to reconcile with an estranged partner, relative or friend, and the hosts phone the other person live on air. Gidi has said he came up with the idea himself because he wanted to bring something new to Kenyan radio. In November 2025 Gidi and Ghost marked 17 years of Patanisho.
Before radio, Gidi was one half of the hip hop duo Gidi Gidi Maji Maji, known for songs such as Ting Badi Malo and Unbwogable. He studied at Aquinas High School and was spotted by producer Tedd Josiah at a cypher in a local club.
The audience numbers are large. An Ipsos survey in 2026 found that six in ten Nairobians tune in to the show, and the GeoPoll survey for July 2026 named Radio Jambo the most listened-to Swahili station in Nairobi, with about 16 million listeners nationally.
