Joe Saina

Joe Saina co-hosts The Kick-Off, the weekday breakfast show on SportyFM Kenya, with Nicolette White from 6am to 9am. The Kick-Off is the station's flagship morning programme, and SportyFM describes it as the show that sets the day's sports agenda, built on breaking news and calls from fans.

Saina has been with SportyFM from the start. When the station went on air in Nairobi and Mombasa in August 2025, he was among the sports journalists who joined, and regular programming began at 6am on Monday 18 August 2025 with The Kick-Off. At the station's formal launch in April 2026, he was grouped with Peter Kirumba and Diamond Okusimba as the experienced sports journalists on a line-up that also brings in newer voices such as Hesbon Nyamari and Hilda Cheptoo.

The Kick-Off draws on the full range SportyFM covers: the FKF Premier League, the English Premier League, LaLiga, athletics, rugby, the NFL, Formula 1 and boxing. Many SportyFM shows are also streamed on video, so morning listeners can watch the studio as well as hear it. After the breakfast hours the station moves to Power Play at midday and Sporty Express, the 3pm to 7pm drive show.

SportyFM broadcasts on 105.0 FM in Nairobi, 103.9 FM in Nakuru and 106.6 FM in Kisumu, with Mombasa reported on 97.3 FM. The station is run by Carol Radull and owned by the Sporty Group, which also operates SportyTV.
