Kamene Goro is the chief executive of NRG Radio and one of the voices on NRG Transit, the station's Friday drive show. In May 2026 she was serving as CEO and hosting NRG Transit, which makes her both the boss and an on-air name at the Nairobi station.
She did not start out in radio. Kamene studied law at the University of Nairobi after attending Rusinga International School, and worked briefly as a paralegal at Simani & Co Advocates before choosing media. Her first broadcasting job was at Ebru TV, where she was a news anchor and presenter. In 2017 she left Ebru for NRG Radio and co-hosted the breakfast show with Andrew Kibe.
In 2019 Kamene and Kibe moved to Kiss 100, a switch that led to a court dispute with NRG over her contract. She stayed at Kiss until January 2023. Three months later she was back at NRG, joining Shaffie Weru and DJ Pierra Makena on NRG Transit, a four-hour show every Friday from 3pm to 7pm. On 1 April 2024 NRG announced her return in a bigger role, as chief executive of the station.
Her shows are known for frank talk about relationships, money and lifestyle. Outside radio she hosts events, works with brands and has a large Instagram following. The current Transit time slot has not been confirmed for 2026, so check the station before tuning in.
