Capital FM

Capital FM is an English-language music and talk station for urban Kenyan listeners, broadcasting to Nairobi on 98.4 FM. Capital Group owns it, and the studios sit at Two Rivers Mall along Limuru Road, the same building as its news website.

Capital launched in 1996, which puts it among the earliest private FM stations in the country. Its sound has long leaned towards R&B, hip hop, dance, jazz and neo soul, with presenters and talk segments filling the gaps between records.

The brand reaches well beyond the radio dial. Capital Group runs a large digital newsroom under the Capital FM name, covering politics, business, sport and lifestyle, plus a youth entertainment site called The Sauce. The old capitalfm.co.ke web address now forwards to capitalfm.africa, which is where the live player and the schedule live.

When the live player was checked in October 2026, one of the shows on it was The Fuse, with Anne Mwaura presenting. Programmes and hosts do change, so check the website for the full day's line-up before you tune in.

Outside Nairobi, Capital FM is on 98.4 FM in Mombasa, 98.5 FM in Nakuru and Nyeri, 93.0 FM in western Kenya, 103.9 FM in Meru, 104.5 FM in Malindi and 104.9 FM in Voi. The station also streams online and on YouTube, and you can play it from this page.
