Mayian FM on 100.7 FM

Mayian FM broadcasts in Maa for Maasai listeners, with Narok as its home and 100.7 FM as its main frequency. Mediamax Network runs it. Its slogan, "Ewang'an olosho", translates as the eye of the community.

Mediamax launched it to give Maa speakers a station of their own, with their music and their concerns at the centre. News, both regional and national, is read in Maa. Talk and community programmes take up much of the schedule, and civic education features often. Land comes up again and again: several shows help listeners understand disputes, rights and policies affecting their land and livelihoods.

Narok is the main base, but the station reaches across Maasai country. Kilgoris shares the Narok number, 100.7 FM. Kajiado is on 100.6 FM, while Samburu, Laikipia and Baringo pick it up on 100.5 FM. Those relays carry the station across southern Maasai country and into parts of the wider Rift Valley.
