Osiepe FM on 96.8 FM
Osiepe FM is a Dholuo-language station licensed to Mediamax Network, the media group behind K24 TV, Kameme FM and Milele FM. It is aimed at Luo listeners in Siaya and Homa Bay counties.
When the licence was announced, Osiepe FM was due to go on air on 96.8 FM, covering Siaya and Homa Bay. The launch was linked at the time to the political 'handshake' between President Uhuru Kenyatta, whose family has a stake in Mediamax, and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Mediamax already ran vernacular stations for other communities, including Kameme FM in Kikuyu, Meru FM in Kimeru and Emoo FM in Ekegusii, so a Luo station extended that model into Nyanza. In the Dholuo market, Osiepe FM shares the dial with long-established stations such as Royal Media Services' Ramogi FM, KBC's Mayienga FM and Radio Lake Victoria.
