Jeff Kuria

Jeff Kuria is the Head of Radio at Inooro FM and the host of Hagaria, the Royal Media Services station's long-running Kikuyu breakfast show. Inooro broadcasts on 98.9 FM in Nairobi, with frequencies in Murang'a, Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Nakuru and Eldoret, and says it reaches more than two million listeners a day. Its signature line, Muugi ni Mutaare, means "the wise accept counsel".

Kuria joined Inooro on 26 January 2007. At the station's 23rd anniversary celebrations in July 2026 he recalled that the first classified advert he handled after joining came from Kiriri Women's University. He now leads the radio team, with the veteran broadcaster Benjamin Wangari as his deputy, and he used the anniversary to thank the presenters who built the station, including the late Kihara wa Gathua and his predecessor as Head of Radio, Gathoni wa Muchomba, now the MP for Githunguri.

Hagaria anchors a weekday line-up that continues with Thiririka in the mid-morning, Kurikiria at lunchtime and Cua Cua in the afternoon drive. On air, Kuria has a large and loyal following among Kikuyu-speaking listeners, both on radio and on social media.

Off air he works as an events MC and mentor, and he is the chief executive of Hafla Events.
