Vincent Ateya

Vincent Ateya is a Radio Citizen presenter who now hosts the station's drive show with Philip Murutu and Melody Sinzore. Until February 2026 he was one of the voices of Jambo Kenya, the Swahili breakfast show, alongside Melody Sinzore.

The change came on 9 February 2026, when Royal Media Services announced what it called an airwave shake-up across its radio brands. Under the changes, the Jambo Kenya team of Ateya, Murutu and Sinzore would take over the drive show, while the drive team of Tina Ogal, Abdi Munai and Kuka Kisondio moved to breakfast. Fred Afune, Royal Media's ICT and radio director, said the aim was to challenge presenters to reach a new audience and give fans a side of their favourite voices they had not heard before. The change took effect immediately.

Ateya has also held a management role at the station. In 2024 he was said to be the Programmes Manager for Royal Media's national cluster, with Ogal reporting to him in her acting head of radio role. It is not clear whether he still holds that position.

Public information about his early career, education and earlier stations is thin, so this profile sticks to what is known. Listeners who knew him from mornings will now find him on Radio Citizen later in the day, in the slot that Tina Ogal and Abdi Munai held for many years.
