Phelix Odiwuor, known to listeners as Jalang'o or Jalas, is a former Kiss 100 morning presenter who is now a politician. He has been the Member of Parliament for Lang'ata Constituency since September 2022, after winning the seat on an ODM ticket in the 2022 general election. He no longer hosts a radio show.
Kiss 100 is where his radio career started and where it ended. He began in 2004 working alongside Caroline Mutoko on the station's morning show. He later moved to Radio Maisha in 2012, to Hot 96 in 2017 and then to Milele FM, where by 2020 he co-hosted the morning show with Alex Mwakideu. In July 2020 he returned to Kiss 100 as a morning presenter, co-hosting with Kamene Goro, until he moved into politics.
He took his stage name from the character Jalang'o he played on Citizen TV's comedy Papa Shirandula. Outside radio he worked as an MC, acted in TV commercials and runs a YouTube channel, Jalang'o TV, where he interviews public figures. He also started an advertising and marketing company, Arena Media.
Odiwuor was born on 27 April 1983 in Homa Bay. He attended Homa Bay Lake Primary School and Nyang'oma Boys Secondary School in Siaya County, and graduated from Daystar University in November 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development.
