Eric Latiff co-hosts Fixing the Nation, the weekday breakfast programme that runs on Nation FM and NTV at the same time from 6am to 10am. He has been on the show since its first broadcast on 3 February 2025, and in April 2026 he was still a host alongside Mariam Bishar.
Before Nation Media Group, Latiff was best known for The Situation Room on Spice FM, the Standard Group talk station. The programme built a following for its long political conversations, and Latiff drew senior leaders into the studio. In 2024 he interviewed President William Ruto at the height of the anti-government protests. In 2022 he was picked to co-moderate the presidential debate with Yvonne Okwara.
He left Spice FM and the Standard Group on 6 January 2025, saying goodbye to colleagues in radio, TV and print. Within days Nation Media Group announced him as a new signing, and by the end of the month NTV had unveiled Fixing the Nation with Latiff, Janet Mbugua and Mariam Bishar. Mbugua left in April 2026 and handed over to Fellaris Wambui.
Latiff's training is not in journalism. He studied Telecommunication Engineering at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. He still comments publicly on politics, including a December 2025 critique of the government's economic direction.
