Osotua Catholic Radio on 89.0 FM

Osotua Catholic Radio is the Catholic Diocese of Ngong's station in Narok, broadcasting in Swahili and Maa for Maasai and other communities in Narok County.

The studios are at St Peter's Parish in Narok. Bishop John Oballa Owaa, then the Bishop of Ngong, blessed and opened the station on 22 August 2018. At the time it was described as the 12th Catholic radio station in Kenya.

Using two languages lets the station reach both groups in the county. Maa is the first language for many Maasai families, while Swahili carries across communities in Narok town and beyond. The diocese uses the station for Mass, prayer and church news, and its slogan puts peace at the centre of its message.

Radio 47 on 89.0 FM

Radio 47 is a national urban Swahili station owned by Cape Media Limited, the company that also runs TV47.

The station went live on Monday 13 March 2023. Before launch it hired heavily from rivals, chiefly Radio Maisha and Milele FM. The opening line-up published that month named Eva Mwalili (Mama Taifa) on the early Nuru 47, Emmanuel Mwashumbe and Mkamburi Chigogo on Breakfast 47, Mwanaisha Chidzuga on mid-morning Mchikicho, Manucho the Young Turk on Baze 47 and Billy Miya with Mbaruk Mwalimu on the Maskani drive show. Dr Ofweneke took the evening Chemba Show.

Breakfast 47 changed in August 2023, when Alex Mwakideu left Milele FM and joined Mwashumbe on the 6am to 10am slot. Weekend programming at launch included Bahari la Elimu for students and teachers, Mikiki ya Spoti, Kali za Kale with Eric Wambugu and the political talk show Kikao cha Hoja.
